Digital Domain's CG lizards are the real stars of this spot. Each reptile was animated independently to match the exact movements of Michael Jackson's iconic music video, resulting in one of the most popular commercials to air during Super Bowl XLII.

The National Film Board of Canada's "The Family That Dwelt Apart" is a sprightly fable narrated by the author, E. B. White.. A family of seven lives on a New England island with nobody else. One winter, they got stranded because the bay froze over. This didn't much matter to them, but someone on the mainland remembered them and launched an aerial rescue mission; an unfounded story that one boy had appendicitis results in a larger rescue mission, with the situation rapidly escalating into a major catastrophe all because of the rescue mission

The music video for "Don't Panic", one my favourite ColdPlay song was directed by Tim Hope. The video starts off with an animated diagram of the water cycle, then portrays the band as two-dimensional paper cutouts doing household chores, when suddenly disaster strikes the earth in the forms of floods, volcanoes and electric shocks. Like Coldplay's earlier music videos, "Don't Panic" also features the yellow globe on the cover of Parachutes

Another jewel from the Animatrix saga. I love the staging and layouts. When I direct, my main responsibility is to communicate all the scenes that I’ve visualized in my mind to the other filmmakers who are working with me, so I have a very great sense of responsibility. I have to be on top of things, have a clear vision and be able to communicate that vision to the rest of the staff when I’m directing. But when I’m drawing keyframes, I can think of keyframes as one part of a larger number of elements that make up a final picture, so it’s much more about making sure that my part matches with other people’s parts, and that my work is consistent with the aims of the whole project in general. It’s about 180 degrees opposite to directing....Takeshi Koike
